A SCREEN NEAR YOU

Based on the template I built for one of my other sites (surprisingly called A Screen Near You), this is a simple two-column layout, although it has three columns on the front page. It’s designed to be easy to use and flexible, with a choice of six colour schemes and support for widgets.

There is also the option to create an archives page and links page with different layouts. You can see examples below, or check out this link for the example of the archive page, and here for the links page on A Screen Near You.

Please make sure to check out the Read Me file in the package for installation instructions. The theme has been tested on WordPress 2.2, but it should work on anything higher than 2.0

This template is based on a design by Andreas Viklund. There already is a WordPress port available for it, by Ainslie Johnson, but that is the three column fluid width design. I’ve gone with the two column and made the main content fixed width to make it more usable across different screen sizes. I’ve also tidied up the code a little.

Again, the template is available in a range of colours: Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Purple and Black (it defaults to Black), but my version also alters a few other properties in an effort to make each theme gel a little better.
